Virtual Design Construction (VDC) Technology Manager
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of VDC strategies company wide
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate VDC into all phases of construction, from pre-construction through project completion
- Assist in the pursuit and delivery of design-build projects
- Oversee the adoption and utilization of design technologies
- Develop and maintain company-wide standards for VDC processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects
- Research and evaluate new software, tools, and methodologies to keep the company at the forefront of industry technology
- Work closely with related personnel to ensure seamless coordination and execution of VDC processes
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for VDC-related challenges during project development and execution
- Ensure that all VDC deliverables are accurate, timely, and align with project goals and client expectations
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of virtual designs
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with VDC processes, including potential design clashes, budget overruns, and timeline delays
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding VDC-related inquiries and updates
- Present VDC models and processes to clients, ensuring transparency and understanding of project progress and decisions
- Develop and deliver training programs for internal teams to enhance their VDC capabilities
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience leading teams in a VDC, BIM, or related role within the commercial Mechanical, MEP, HVAC construction industry
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong understanding of construction processes, architectural design, and engineering principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
