Trusts & Estates Associate – Premier Boutique Private Client Practice (Chicago, IL | Hybrid)
Law firm is seeking a highly skilled Trusts & Estates Associate to join its expanding team.

About the Role
The firm is seeking an experienced, motivated attorney with strong technical skills in trusts & estates, estate tax planning, and wealth-transfer strategies. The ideal candidate brings exceptional drafting ability, advanced analytical skills, and the confidence to work directly with sophisticated clients.
Prior law firm experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
Handle complex and high-net-worth estate, tax, wealth-transfer, and business-succession planning
Draft sophisticated estate planning instruments, including irrevocable trusts, income/estate tax planning documents, and business-planning documents
Advise fiduciaries and beneficiaries in trust and estate administration
Work with pass-through entities (LLCs, LPs) and charitable planning structures
Maintain organized client files and deliver work product with exceptional attention to detail
Participate in in-person and virtual client meetings
Manage multiple high-level projects in a fast-paced boutique environment
Required Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school
4–7 years of trusts & estates experience in a law firm or comparable setting
Strong experience with estate and gift tax planning
Admission to the Illinois Bar
Exceptional drafting, writing, research, and analytical skills
Highly professional, detail-oriented, and capable of independent work
Strong communication and client-relationship abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Ability to work extended hours during peak periods
LL.M. in Tax, CPA, MBA, or similar credentials are a plus
