Office Manager / HR Manager

Chicago, IL (In-Office | Hybrid After Onboarding)

A growing Chicago law firm is seeking an experienced Office Manager / HR Manager to lead both human resources and daily office operations. This is a hands-on role for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Office Management

  • Oversee daily office operations, vendors, supplies, and workflow
  • Liaise with building management and serve as IT point of contact
  • Maintain an organized, professional office environment

Human Resources

  • Manage recruiting, onboarding, and employee records
  • Ensure compliance with Illinois and federal labor laws
  • Administer payroll, PTO, and benefits
  • Support performance management and employee relations
  • Assist with firm events and internal initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, office management, and supervision
  • Knowledge of Illinois labor laws and HR compliance
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience (Paylocity preferred)
  • Law firm experience preferred

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, in-office (Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Hybrid flexibility after 60–90 days
  • Occasional after-hours flexibility as needed
