Job Description

A growing food manufacturer is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume, temperature-controlled production environment. This role helps ensure safe, efficient operation of refrigeration, air handling, and climate control systems that protect food quality and employee safety.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC/R systems, including chillers, freezers, compressors, condensers, and air handling units

  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve system reliability

  • Monitor and adjust environmental controls to support food safety and quality standards (HACCP, USDA, FDA)

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system issues

  • Maintain EPA-compliant refrigerant handling records

  • Work in cold production areas as needed with proper PPE

  • Follow LOTO and other OSHA safety procedures

  • Support energy-efficiency and system-upgrade initiatives

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC/R experience (food manufacturing or cold storage preferred)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems

  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

  • EPA refrigerant certification a plus

  • Comfortable working in cold environments for extended periods

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team

  • Willingness to work overtime or on-call when needed
