Job Description

A confidential food manufacturer is seeking an EHS Coordinator to support Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across a high-volume USDA-regulated facility. This role is hands-on and focused on maintaining compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all state and local requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.

Position Summary
The EHS Coordinator assists with the development, training, and monitoring of safety and environmental programs. This position conducts audits, supports investigations, tracks corrective actions, updates documentation, and works closely with production teams to reinforce safe work practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and maintenance of EHS policies and procedures

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, observations, and investigations

  • Assist with OSHA and EPA compliance, reporting, and required documentation

  • Train employees on PPE, LOTO, hazard communication, GMP-related safety, and emergency response

  • Track incidents, near misses, and corrective actions

  • Maintain environmental compliance related to waste, chemical handling, and permits

  • Help coordinate safety meetings and routine communication

  • Maintain EHS records, logs, and reports

  • Promote a safe, compliant work environment across all departments

Qualifications
Required:

  • 2+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations

  • Experience with audits, training, and safety procedures

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

  • Food or USDA manufacturing experience

  • OSHA 30 or relevant safety certifications

  • English/Spanish bilingual abilities
