Job Description

We have an exceptional opportunity with a well-regarded business law firm in Northern California. Our client is seeking a skilled associate attorney to join their esteemed Litigation Department. This position offers the chance to work on a wide range of business disputes while providing valuable client counsel. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in handling complex litigation matters, with the ability to take cases from inception to resolution.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex business and commercial litigation matters.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, and other legal documents to support litigation efforts.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and document requests.
  • Take and defend depositions, contributing to case development and strategy.
  • Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and mediations.
  • Assist in trial preparation, including witness preparation, evidence organization, and strategy development.
  • Mediate disputes and negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide strategic input on case management and litigation tactics.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in business-related litigation, including areas such as contract, employment, and complex commercial disputes.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with experience drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and other legal correspondence.
  • Experience in taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in court appearances and mediation.
  • Trial experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases effectively and meet deadlines.
