Job Snapshot

Job Description

A local industry leader is looking to fill an open Field Service Technician / Advisor position immediately.

About the Role (75% regional and international travel):

In this role, you will be the face of the company on the shop floor, working directly with advanced capital equipment. Their machinery is utilized globally for mixing and separating liquids and solids across critical, high-impact industries—ranging from pharmaceuticals and food production to commercial composites. If you have strong mechanical intuition, a curiosity to learn, and a passion for "no holds barred" traveling, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Why Travel Lovers Choose This Company:

They know field travel takes commitment, so they make sure you are fully supported, heavily compensated, and given the freedom to enjoy your destinations:

  • The "Explore on the Company Dime" Toolkit: You will be fully equipped with a company phone, company laptop, and a corporate travel card. Because your travel expenses are completely covered, you can easily explore new cities during your off-hours.
  • Guaranteed Premium Travel Pay: International travel includes two full days of paid transit each way paid at the premium "Working Rate."
  • Built-in Recovery Time: Every time you travel, you receive 24 hours to prepare before leaving and 24 hours of fully paid recovery time upon your return.
  • Secure Home Base Stipend: When there is no field service work, you get paid a weekly downtime stipend at your home rate. You enjoy a relaxed 1.5-hour response window and are guaranteed a full 40 hours of pay regardless of how short a local job takes.

What You Will Do:

  • Commission & Optimize: Set up and commission brand-new, high-value industrial machinery at client sites.
  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose: Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on-site and execute precise corrective actions.
  • Train & Supervise: Occasionally lead and train client personnel—ranging from floor laborers to corporate executives—on equipment operation.
  • Document & Report: Maintain accurate Field Service Reports for client invoicing and managing timely expense reports.

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Mechanical Machinist, Millwright, or Industrial Service Technician.
  • Technical Aptitude: A formal degree is not required. They value highly demonstrated technical ability, a strong curiosity to learn, and excellent blueprint reading skills.
  • Core Skills: Solid, practical experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate professionally and build rapport with all levels of client personnel.
  • Travel Flexibility: Ready to travel 3–5 days domestically, with the passport flexibility to handle international assignments lasting up to 4–6 weeks on rare occasions.

Compensation Structure

They offer a dual-rate system designed to keep your income stable while rewarding your time on the road:

  1. Travel & Work Rate: A premium rate paid while you are traveling, working on client sites, and during transit days.
  2. Home / On-Call Rate: A baseline stipend rate that guarantees you 40 hours of pay per week during local downtime.

Employee Benefits

  • Health & Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options alongside life insurance and disability coverage.
  • Retirement: A 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without restriction.
