Operations Manager - Waste Management in Austin

Job Description

We’re seeking a results-driven Operations Manager – Waste Management to lead commercial, industrial, and residential collection operations. This role requires prior experience in the waste management industry and involves overseeing daily hauling activities, managing a large team, ensuring compliance and safety, and driving operational efficiency across a wide service area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a team of Supervisors, Drivers, Dispatchers, and support staff.
• Oversee routing, container delivery/pickup, and ensure timely, high-quality service.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Manage budgets, control labor and disposal costs, and improve operational performance.
• Resolve customer issues and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Execute strategies that support growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years of experience in Waste Management operations (required).
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage large field teams.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
