Position Overview:
As a Drywall Estimator, you will analyze project plans, assess materials and labor needs, and prepare detailed estimates for drywall projects. Your ability to combine technical expertise with strategic thinking will directly impact our ability to win new business and maintain strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans, specifications, and blueprints to understand scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Identify and analyze project risks, constraints, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with clients, general contractors, and internal teams to clarify project details and resolve discrepancies.
- Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive estimates.
- Maintain updated pricing databases and cost benchmarks for drywall materials and labor.
- Present estimates to management and clients with supporting documentation and justifications.
- Assist in bid preparation and submission for new projects.
- Track and analyze project outcomes to refine future estimating processes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the drywall or construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of drywall materials, installation processes, and construction methods.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required).
