Position Overview: As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will be responsible for managing drywall projects from pre-construction through completion while also preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates. This dual role requires a strategic thinker with strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee drywall projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Address and resolve any challenges or changes during the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, enforce safety standards, and ensure quality control.
- Review blueprints, plans, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for drywall projects.
- Calculate materials, labor, and overhead costs, preparing proposals and bids that are competitive and thorough.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate project scope and gather necessary information.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market pricing, industry trends, and drywall installation techniques.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project and financial performance.
- Document all aspects of the project, including contracts, change orders, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management and estimating within the drywall or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of drywall systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Proficiency in estimating and project management software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is a plus but not required.
