Job Title: Associate Lawyer- Construction Litigator
About the opportunity:
Our client is seeking a Construction Litigator who specializes in handling legal disputes related to construction projects. The role will act on behalf of contractors, subcontractors, developers, and other construction industry stakeholders to resolve disputes over contracts, design defects, construction defects, and other issues that arise during the course of a construction project as well as defending builder's liens and debt collections.
Responsibilities:
- Requires managing a file from intake to trial/arbitration independently with minimal oversight.
- Conducting legal research and analyzing case law to develop effective strategies for resolving construction disputes.
- Drafting legal briefs, pleadings, and other documentation related to litigation.
- Representing clients in court and negotiating settlements with opposing parties.
- Managing a caseload of construction-related litigation matters.
- Collaborating with teams of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to analyze evidence and prepare for trial.
- Maintaining accurate and complete case files and legal databases.
- Participating in alternative dispute resolution processes, such as arbitration or mediation, to resolve construction disputes outside of the courtroom.
- Advising clients on legal issues related to construction projects, such as zoning and land use regulations, building codes, and insurance coverage.
- Mediating and defending builder's liens and debt collections.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in Construction Litigation
- License to practice law in Florida and be in good standing.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills, are essential for success in this role.
- A self-starter with strong academic credentials.
