Associate Attorney – Law & Motion - Los Angeles, CA

A growing mid-sized firm is seeking talented Law & Motion Associate Attorneys to join its litigation team in Los Angeles. This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of substantive legal matters across state and federal courts. The ideal candidates will be a strong legal writer with experience drafting and opposing dispositive motions and assisting with appellate work. The firm is recognized for its strong commitment to work-life balance, professional development, and a collaborative team culture. The firm offers a hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote.  This is a great opportunity for a litigation associate looking to specialize in law and motion practice within a supportive and high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex procedural and substantive issues
  • Prepare responsive pleadings, briefs, and memoranda
  • Assist with appellate matters and related legal strategy
  • Attend court hearings and collaborate closely with senior attorneys
  • Maintain regular communication with internal teams, clients, and opposing counsel

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of litigation experience; employment law background strongly preferred
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active California Bar license
  • Exceptional legal writing and research skills
  • Strong oral advocacy and communication abilities
  • Team-oriented, detail-focused, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures
  • Court appearance and deposition experience preferred
  • Trial experience is a plus, but not required
