We are currently seeking an experienced Detailing Manager with a strong background in structural steel and miscellaneous metals detailing. This role is fully remote, with occasional travel to the office required on a quarterly basis for meetings.
The Detailer Manager will oversee the detailing department, manage projects and personnel, and produce high-quality fabrication drawings for structural steel components based on architectural and structural design plans. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on detailing expertise along with proven leadership experience and advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and lead the detailing team, including workload planning, scheduling, and quality control
Produce, review, and approve detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals
Interpret architectural and structural design documents and ensure accurate execution
Ensure compliance with AISC steel construction standards and detailing guidelines
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve design and constructability issues
Mentor and develop detailers, providing technical guidance and leadership
Maintain detailing standards, processes, and best practices across projects
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
5+ years of structural steel detailing experience
2+ years of detailing management or leadership experience
Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures (required)
Strong working knowledge of AISC steel construction detailing design standards and guidelines
Experience with 2D and 3D modeling and detailing workflows
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills
High attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency with Excel, email, internet applications, PDF and image management software
Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhinoceros 3D, or similar software is a plus
WORK LOCATION:
Fully remote position
Quarterly travel to the office required for meetings
