(Remote) Steel Detailing Manager in Boise

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Detailing Manager with a strong background in structural steel and miscellaneous metals detailing. This role is fully remote, with occasional travel to the office required on a quarterly basis for meetings.

The Detailer Manager will oversee the detailing department, manage projects and personnel, and produce high-quality fabrication drawings for structural steel components based on architectural and structural design plans. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on detailing expertise along with proven leadership experience and advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and lead the detailing team, including workload planning, scheduling, and quality control

  • Produce, review, and approve detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals

  • Interpret architectural and structural design documents and ensure accurate execution

  • Ensure compliance with AISC steel construction standards and detailing guidelines

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to resolve design and constructability issues

  • Mentor and develop detailers, providing technical guidance and leadership

  • Maintain detailing standards, processes, and best practices across projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • 5+ years of structural steel detailing experience

  • 2+ years of detailing management or leadership experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures (required)

  • Strong working knowledge of AISC steel construction detailing design standards and guidelines

  • Experience with 2D and 3D modeling and detailing workflows

  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills

  • High attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Excel, email, internet applications, PDF and image management software

  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhinoceros 3D, or similar software is a plus

WORK LOCATION:

  • Fully remote position

  • Quarterly travel to the office required for meetings
