An industry-leading agricultural organization is seeking an experienced Specialty Crop Sales Representative to support and grow relationships with specialty and perennial crop producers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a remote-based role offering the opportunity to deliver tailored agronomic expertise and premium crop input solutions to growers in the region.

Specialty Crop Sales Rep Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert agronomic guidance on specialty and perennial crop production (including soil health and plant nutrition recommendations) to support customer success and optimal crop performance.

  • Maintain strong relationships with Farm Performance Advisors and customers, ensuring seamless coordination between sales efforts and technical support for an exceptional customer experience.

  • Advise and coordinate with operations teams on inventory management, making sure product availability aligns with customer needs and regional demand.

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet with growers on-site, conduct field visits, and attend industry events or regional training sessions as needed (this role requires regular travel).

  • Collaborate with research and industry experts to stay current on the latest innovations in specialty crop science, and share relevant knowledge with colleagues and customers to drive adoption of best practices.

  • Present technical information and product benefits to groups of growers and agricultural professionals (e.g. during field days, workshops, and conferences) in a clear, engaging manner.

  • Drive product sales growth within the specialty crops segment, meeting or exceeding sales targets and expanding the customer base across the territory.

Specialty Crop Sales Rep Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). At least 4 years of professional experience in the agriculture industry, preferably in agronomy, crop production, or ag sales.

  • Agronomic Knowledge: Strong foundation in crop science and agronomy, with in-depth knowledge of soil health, plant nutrition, and specialty/perennial cropping systems.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively to diverse audiences (farmers, advisors, industry groups).

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with computers and standard office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting, presentations, and communication.

  • Work Style: High level of integrity, self-motivation, and a team-oriented mindset. Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Travel Ability: Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory (including overnight trips as necessary). A valid driver’s license is required (company vehicle provided)

  • Sales Experience: Previous experience in agricultural sales or account management, especially involving crop input products or specialty crop markets.

  • Certified Crop Advisor Certification preferred
