Audit Manager – Fremont, Nebraska

Opportunity - They are seeking an Audit Manager to join a well-established team in Fremont, NE. This is a high-impact role with leadership responsibilities, client interaction, and the opportunity to help drive firm growth.

  • Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility
  • Travel: 20–30% (mostly local, occasional out-of-state annually)
  • Hours:
    • Busy Season: Based on audit/tax deadlines
    • Off Season: ~40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage audit engagements across:
    • Government entities
    • Nonprofits
    • Schools and telephone audits
  • Provide tax support during busy season (generalist returns)
  • Supervise and mentor 2–3 direct reports
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality service
  • Collaborate with partners on engagement strategy and execution

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of audit experience (manager-level preferred)
  • CPA required or actively pursuing
  • Strong technical audit and client-facing experience
  • Experience with tax returns including:
    • 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065
  • Multi-industry exposure (government, nonprofit, education)
  • Familiarity with: ProSystems (audit), Lacerte (tax), TaxDome or similar client portals

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $100K – $145K
  • Bonus: 5–7% performance-based
  • Benefits Include:
