A leading heavy civil construction contractor in the Colorado Springs area is seeking a motivated Field Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional who wants to advance into a Superintendent role and build a long-term career in the civil construction industry.

About the Role

The Field Engineer will support project operations in the field, assisting with layout, quality control, documentation, and coordination with crews and subcontractors. You’ll be involved in a variety of infrastructure projects—including roads, bridges, underground utilities, and concrete structures—and gain hands-on experience managing the full construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in daily field operations

  • Perform layout, quantity tracking, and progress reporting

  • Support quality control, safety compliance, and project documentation

  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure schedule and production goals are met

  • Contribute to problem-solving efforts and project planning meetings

  • Learn project leadership responsibilities with a clear path toward a Superintendent position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3–4 years of field experience with heavy civil projects such as roadways, bridges, utilities, or concrete work

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and surveying principles

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • A proactive attitude and desire for professional growth
