Construction Estimator

A growing construction company is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their preconstruction team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and supporting the bidding process to ensure successful project planning and execution.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction costs, materials, and subcontractor pricing and can work collaboratively with project managers, subcontractors, and leadership to deliver competitive and accurate project estimates.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential or commercial construction projects
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, materials, and equipment costs
• Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Assist with project budgeting and cost planning during the preconstruction phase
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams to ensure estimate accuracy
• Maintain estimating databases and track historical cost data
• Participate in bid reviews and proposal preparation

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in construction estimating
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications
• Ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 per year
