Job Description

A Tool & Die Design Engineer is needed to design, develop, and improve tooling and dies for metal forming presses. This role involves utilizing CAD software to create precise models and drawings, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and ensuring designs meet quality and safety standards. A deep understanding of machining processes, metallurgy, and manufacturing requirements is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Tool & Die Design Engineer
    • Precision tooling and dies for metal forming presses are designed and developed using CAD software.
    • 3D models and detailed drawings for tooling and dies are created.
    • Collaboration with production and engineering teams ensures tooling and dies meet specifications and manufacturing requirements.
    • Feasibility studies are conducted, and design challenges are analyzed to propose effective solutions.
    • Compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and project deadlines is ensured.
    • Prototype development is overseen, and testing is conducted to validate tool and die performance.
    • Modifications and improvements to existing tools and dies are made to enhance efficiency and longevity.
    • Coordination with vendors and suppliers is managed for material selection and component manufacturing.
    • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting for tooling and die-related production issues are performed.

Qualifications:

  • Tool & Die Design Engineer
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Design, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in tool and die design or related manufacturing roles.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
    • Strong understanding of machining processes, metallurgy, and materials science.
    • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
    • Understanding of metal forming press processes.
