As an AISC Certified Erector with a 250-strong workforce and licensure in 15 states, we proudly support commercial and municipal projects of all scopes and sizes. Our business is growing — and so is the need for a strategic, hands-on Director of Human Resources to shape the next era of our workforce. We are seeking a seasoned HR Director who thrives in the dynamic, high-performance world of structural steel and heavy construction. This leader will oversee all aspects of human resources — from field workforce planning and labor compliance to leadership development and organizational culture — across multiple job sites and state jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute HR strategies that support operational goals across a multi-state footprint
Lead recruiting, onboarding, and retention for skilled labor, foremen, and leadership roles
Oversee compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific labor regulations (including OSHA, DOT, and AISC standards)
Manage performance management systems, benefits, and training programs
Champion company culture, DEI initiatives, and safety-first practices
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and field operations
What You Bring
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in structural steel, construction, or heavy industrial environments
In-depth knowledge of field labor dynamics, wage classifications, and multi-state employment law
Experience supporting both corporate teams and jobsite crews
Strong leadership and communication skills, with a collaborative, boots-on-the-ground mindset
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or related certifications preferred
