Job Description

Seeking a Director of Nursing that is a Registered Nurse with leadership experience within the senior living or in a hospital setting that is ready to take their career to the next level. Must have a passion for coaching, training, and developing others!

Responsibilities:

  • Director of Nursing  plans organizes, developers and directs the overall operation of the Nursing Department
  • Ensures the Department is in accordance with all laws, regulations, and organization standards
  • Maintains a physical, social, and psychological environment that promotes the health and well-being of others
  • Proactively anticipating and responding to residents, staff, and facility needs
  • Guide clinical matters, facilitating and/or providing oversight of training, education, and effective clinical practices

Requirements: Director of Nursing

  • Current RN license within the state 
  • Supervisory/management experience in Long Term Care/Senior Living 
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations
  • Strong skills in leadership
  • Ability to set and achieve relevant and challenging goals for self and team
  • Continuous coaching, training, and development of a quality nursing team

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • · Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise additional employees in the Health Center.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Educational Requirements and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.

· Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing. Five to seven years experience in long-term care.

· Five years of previous management experience.

· Knowledgeable of standards of care and practices applicable to the delivery of geriatric services, complex medical conditions, and multiple medical diagnoses, including preventive measures, rehabilitation, and promoting independence.
