Mechanical Estimator Responsibilities & Duties

  • Analyze project plans and specifications to create detailed cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to determine the scope of work.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Utilize estimating software to prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Evaluate and select suitable materials and equipment for projects.
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals for mechanical projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Track and manage project budgets and expenditures.
  • Communicate with suppliers and contractors to obtain pricing information.
  • Assist in contract negotiations and finalizing project scope.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and any deviations from the plan.
  • Provide support during project implementation to ensure estimated costs are adhered to.

Mechanical Estimator Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical estimating.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and estimation software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
