About the Opportunity:
A well-established, locally owned community bank in northwest Illinois is seeking a BSA Officer to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a banking professional with a strong foundation in compliance, operations, or lending who is ready to step into a vital role focused on protecting the institution and its customers.
The bank is known for its strong financial performance, deep community ties, and long-standing reputation for service. If you’re looking to grow your career in BSA/AML compliance in a stable, mission-driven environment—this could be your next step.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and OFAC compliance program
Conduct monitoring, investigations, and reporting of suspicious activity
Maintain and update policies, procedures, and risk assessments related to BSA/AML compliance
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits and examinations
Stay current on regulatory updates and industry trends
What We’re Looking For:
Prior experience in banking—ideally in compliance, operations, or lending
Working knowledge or strong interest in BSA/AML, OFAC, and related regulations
Ability to think critically, work independently, and exercise sound judgment
Excellent communication and organization skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to doing what’s right
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in banking
Familiarity with BSA/AML processes (training available for the right candidate)
CAMS certification or similar is a plus, but not required
Why This Role Stands Out:
Join a financially strong, highly rated institution with over a century of community presence
Be part of a close-knit team where your contributions are recognized and valued
Competitive compensation and benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous PTO
Work in a culture that prioritizes doing what’s right—for both customers and employees
