Tax Manager

Location: Chicago, IL (Elgin and Orland Park also considered)

Overview

A large national assurance, tax and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its Chicago metro market. You will manage client tax compliance, anticipate tax and business issues, recognize planning opportunities, serve as the main client point of contact and train and develop less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Solve problems for middle-market clients in industries such as manufacturing, real estate and construction, and professional services
• Manage engagements and review complex individual and partnership returns
• Serve partnerships and high-net-worth individuals with estate, gift and trust tax planning and compliance needs
• Manage workflows, deadlines, deliverables and client communications
• Lead tax staff and seniors in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's preferred
• Active CPA license required
• 5+ years of public accounting experience, including 2+ years of managerial experience
• Strong background in C and S corporations, LLCs and partnerships; pass-through (especially partnership) taxation
• Partnership experience with entity structuring, operating agreement review, allocations and partner transactions preferred
• Complex individual tax compliance and planning experience; estate tax experience a plus
