Structural Steel Erection Estimator

GPAC is seeking a knowledgeable Structural Steel Erection Estimator for immediate consideration. GPAC's client is a full service, turn-key construction company specializing in all erection-oriented projects. They specialize in various commercial and industrial complex steel structures.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the project and its requirements
  • Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
  • Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times etc.
  • Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons
  • Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)
  • Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.)
  • Explore documentation in order to gain a deeper understanding of the project requirements
  • Select, measure and track important metrics
  • Prepare relevant and reliable forecasts
  • Create and present reports to upper management
  • Read blueprints and analyze all other applicable documents in order to prepare estimates
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and architects during estimate creation in order to ensure overall accuracy
  • Maintain thorough records of all project documentation including estimates, sales receipts, and project completion documentation

 Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficient with design drawings, architectural & structural drawings, & project specs
  • At minimum 3 years of construction estimating experience, particularly in the vertical/steel construction market
  • Must be a team-player
  • Understanding of construction documents, change orders, & requests for information (RFI’s)
