Project Manager – Structural Steel Bridge Fabrication
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural steel bridge fabrication projects from award through completion. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience managing bridge steel fabrication and related structural components, with a strong understanding of fabrication schedules, DOT specifications, shop operations, and project coordination. This role will work closely with owners, contractors, engineers, detailing teams, and production personnel to ensure successful project execution.
Responsibilities
- Manage structural steel bridge fabrication projects from kickoff to final delivery
- Coordinate with DOT agencies, general contractors, engineers, detailers, and internal fabrication teams
- Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and production requirements
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
- Monitor fabrication schedules and shop production to ensure on-time delivery
- Track project budgets, costs, and overall project performance
- Maintain communication with customers and stakeholders throughout all project phases
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, safety requirements, and DOT specifications
- Assist with scheduling, logistics, and coordination of bridge components and materials
Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management experience in structural steel bridge fabrication
- Strong knowledge of bridge components, girders, plate fabrication, and heavy structural steel
- Experience working with DOT, state, or federally funded bridge projects preferred
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of fabrication shop operations and steel production processes
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
