Job Title: Estimator - Tunneling and Underground Construction
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in underground and tunneling construction practices. The ideal candidate will also have experience in site development, utility construction, earth retention, dewatering, and other civil construction disciplines. This role requires the ability to manage projects from estimation through execution, as well as the desire to leverage construction technology and software to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed estimates for boring and tunneling projects, as well as site development, utility construction, earth retention, and dewatering projects.
- Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with field crews.
- Oversee the estimation process by reviewing project specifications, conducting site assessments, and gathering necessary information for accurate cost predictions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project specifications and expectations are met.
- Develop project schedules and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, ensuring that all safety and quality standards are adhered to.
- Implement and integrate construction technology and software to improve project management efficiency, documentation, and communication.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in estimating and managing boring and tunneling construction projects.
- Strong background in site development, utility construction, earth retention, dewatering, and related civil construction practices.
- Familiarity with construction technology and software, and a desire to implement and integrate these tools within the company.
- Solid understanding of project management processes, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and communicate with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to identify project risks, mitigate challenges, and keep projects on track.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience with technology integration within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and best practices for boring, tunneling, and utility construction.
