Job Title: Commissioning Manager – Commercial Construction
Location: Various locations throughout the Midwest
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Mid-Level (5+ years)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Manager to oversee and manage the commissioning process for commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in commissioning, quality control, and systems integration. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to ensure all building systems function as intended.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures for commercial construction projects.
  • Oversee and coordinate system testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Conduct inspections and functional performance tests for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems.
  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation and reports.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to system performance and compliance.
  • Ensure projects meet all relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Provide training and technical support to building owners and facility management teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, energy efficiency, and industry standards (ASHRAE, LEED, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
  • Proficiency in commissioning software and reporting tools.
  • Certification in commissioning (e.g., ACG, BCxP, CxA) is a plus.
