Steel Detailer – Structural Steel Fabricator & Erector

A respected structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys turning engineering drawings into accurate fabrication and erection plans, coordinating with project teams, and supporting the successful delivery of steel projects.

As a Steel Detailer, you will create detailed steel drawings, verify connections, and ensure projects are ready for fabrication and field assembly. This position requires proficiency in StruMIS and familiarity with structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed structural steel drawings from engineering plans
• Input and manage data in StruMIS for fabrication and material tracking
• Verify connections, part dimensions, and material specifications
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams
• Review drawings and submittals for accuracy and compliance
• Assist with material take-offs, shop drawings, and fabrication plans
• Support project schedules and fabrication workflow

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural steel detailing experience
• Proficient in StruMIS software
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Experience working in a structural steel fabricator or erector environment

Preferred

• Familiarity with AISC standards
• Experience with miscellaneous metals and steel building projects

Compensation & Benefits

• $60,000 – $80,000 DOE
