Structural Engineer

A growing and respected steel construction company is seeking a Structural Engineer to support the design and execution of structural steel and building projects. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on real-world construction challenges, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring structural integrity from concept through completion.

The Structural Engineer will work closely with project managers, detailers, fabricators, and field teams to review designs, perform calculations, and support the successful delivery of structural steel and building projects. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who wants to be involved in both design and practical construction applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for steel structures and building systems
  • Review structural drawings, calculations, and project specifications
  • Develop and verify engineering calculations for structural steel components and connections
  • Coordinate with project managers, detailers, fabrication teams, and field personnel
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for structural compliance
  • Assist with resolving field issues and responding to RFIs
  • Support project teams with engineering guidance during fabrication and erection
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, safety standards, and project requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
  • PE license or actively working toward PE licensure
  • 2+ years of structural engineering experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design principles
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
  • Experience with structural analysis and engineering software
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Experience working with structural steel systems
  • Familiarity with AISC, IBC, and relevant structural design standards
  • Experience coordinating with fabrication shops and construction teams
  • Background working in structural consulting, fabrication, or steel construction

Compensation & Benefits

  • $85,000 – $120,000 DOE
