Senior Structural Steel Project Manager

A respected steel erector is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Steel Project Manager to lead complex commercial and industrial steel projects from award through completion. This role is ideal for a strategic, detail-driven leader who understands steel construction, communicates effectively with clients and field teams, and consistently delivers projects safely, on time, and on budget.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee multiple projects and project teams while managing planning, scheduling, costs, subcontractors, and field coordination. You will work closely with clients, engineers, fabrication partners, and executive leadership to ensure successful project delivery. If you excel at leading teams, managing priorities, solving challenges, and driving strong project outcomes, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage structural steel projects from contract to close-out
  • Oversee multiple project teams and mentor Project Managers/Assistant PMs
  • Maintain schedules, budgets, and cost reports
  • Coordinate with field leaders, engineers, and fabrication shops
  • Lead project meetings and maintain high-level client communication
  • Review drawings, submittals, RFIs & change orders
  • Monitor project progress, site logistics, safety, and quality
  • Work with vendors & subcontractors and review pricing
  • Assist with contract negotiation, risk management, and project strategy
  • Support project close-out, documentation, and financial reporting

Qualifications

  • 7+ years managing structural steel projects
  • Proven experience leading large or complex steel erection projects
  • Strong understanding of steel erection & fabrication processes
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Strong background in scheduling, cost control & change management
  • Excellent communication, organization & leadership skills
  • Proficient with construction and project management software

Preferred

  • Experience with large commercial or industrial steel projects
  • Familiarity with AISC standards
  • Background working for a structural steel erector or fabricator
  • Experience mentoring junior project managers or coordinators

Compensation & Benefits

  • $110,000 – $120,000 DOE + lucrative bonus potential
