Job Description

Position Title: Estimator – Excavation, Utilities, & Sitework
Compensation: Competitive salary + benefits

Position Overview

We are seeking an Estimator to prepare cost estimates for excavation, utilities, and sitework construction projects. The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of experience in civil/site construction estimating and will assist in preparing competitive bids for public and private projects.

Familiarity with HCSS and AGTEK software is preferred but not required. Project Management is also preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for excavation, utility, and sitework projects

  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and plans

  • Analyze bid documents and specifications to identify scope and requirements

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams

  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers

  • Track historical costs and maintain estimating databases

  • Assist in preparing proposals, bid packages, and pricing summaries

  • Support value engineering and alternate pricing strategies

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of experience in excavation, utilities, or sitework estimating

  • Familiarity with HCSS, AGTEK, or similar estimating software preferred but not required

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and civil/site work processes

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet bid deadlines

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
