Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager – Bridge & Heavy Highway Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of bridge and heavy highway construction projects. This role will work closely with project managers, field superintendents, and quality control teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years of experience in bridge or heavy highway construction and understands the importance of quality control in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers with planning, scheduling, and project execution

  • Review project plans, drawings, and specifications

  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and QC personnel

  • Monitor project progress and report on schedule and cost performance

  • Track and document project issues, submittals, RFIs, and change orders

  • Support quality control activities and ensure compliance with project specifications

  • Maintain organized project documentation and communication

Qualifications

  • 1–5 years of experience in bridge or heavy highway construction projects

  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and QC processes

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with field and office teams

  • Proficiency in project management or scheduling software is a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
