Job Description

A prestigious law firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with approximately 2 years of experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation skills, excellent academic credentials, and trial experience to support the firm’s thriving commercial practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle commercial litigation matters from case strategy through trial

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs with exceptional writing quality

  • Conduct legal research and manage discovery

  • Represent clients in hearings, trials, and arbitrations

  • Collaborate with a team of highly skilled litigators

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a top-tier law school

  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in Washington, Maryland, or Virginia

  • Approximately 2 years of commercial litigation experience at a regional, national, or top local law firm

  • Excellent writing, oral advocacy, and analytical skills

  • Strong academic credentials (top of class preferred)

  • Willing to provide law school transcripts and a writing sample

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Judicial clerkship experience

  • Demonstrated courtroom and trial experience
