About the Job: Hiring an experienced Mechanical Assembler, 1st shift for a full-time, direct-hire position at a precision manufacturing facility in the Saginaw area. The role focuses on the custom assembly of low-volume components, electro-mechanical systems, and heavy-duty industrial equipment rather than high-speed, repetitive assembly lines. The assembler is responsible for accurately constructing complex systems based directly on technical drawings and schematics.
What you’ll do:
- Mechanical Assembly: Fabricates, fits, and builds customized mechanical subassemblies and complete components using hand and power tools.
- System Integration: Integrates physical structures with components, ensuring precise alignment, secure fastening, and operational clearance.
- Blueprint Reading: Interprets and works directly from detailed engineering blueprints, schematics, bill of materials (BOM), and production routers.
- Quality Assurance: Inspects incoming parts for fit and finish, verifies physical tolerances, and performs final functional quality checks on finished machinery.
- Material Handling: Safely utilizes hoisting equipment, overhead cranes, and material handling tools to position heavy, large-scale fabrications.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience Level I: 1 to 3 years of experience in a custom manufacturing facility, industrial assembly shop, or machine shop floor.
- Technical Skills: Proficient with precision pneumatic tools, torque wrenches, basic shop math, and reading multi-view blueprint schematics.
- Autonomy: Strong ability to cross-train on different custom projects and work through assembly problem-solving without constant assembly-line repetition.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs, stand for extended periods, and navigate around larger fabricated units.
What we offer:
- Competitive hourly wages depending on experience
- Shift, start time, and overtime flexibility: 4/10’s, 5/8’s, 5/10’s etc.
- Vertical promotion opportunities.
- Job stability
- Full company benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Short/Long-Term Disability.
- 401(k) retirement plan with a company match program.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays.
