Position Overview
The Preconstruction Director will lead the estimating & preconstruction team, develop cost models, establish budgets, evaluate subcontractor scopes, and participate in business development and client presentations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee preconstruction department and staff
Develop and implement estimation strategies and cost-control frameworks
Conduct value engineering and early phase cost benchmarking
Provide input into client proposals and support business development efforts
Collaborate with senior leadership on project selection and risk assessment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction/engineering
10+ years of progressive preconstruction management experience in commercial construction
Strong analytical, estimating and presentation skills
Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Timberline, Sage, etc.)
