Insurance Defense Attorney

A respected Pittsburgh litigation practice is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to step into a high-volume caseload and make an immediate impact. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who is confident managing cases, handling pressure, and taking ownership of files from start to finish.
The firm works with a strong client base across public sector and corporate matters, offering the opportunity to handle meaningful litigation while working with a collaborative and established team.
Responsibilities:
• Manage insurance defense cases from start to finish
• Take the lead on motions, pleadings, discovery, and case strategy
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Prepare matters for trial, including jury and non-jury trials
• Handle federal court matters
• Represent clients including school districts, municipalities, government entities, public officials, and authorities
• Work on commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters, including mediation and arbitration
• Manage complex discovery and draft dispositive motions
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Active Pennsylvania license required
• Strong federal court experience
• Background handling civil rights/Section 1983 claims, EEOC matters, governmental liability/public entity defense, and general liability cases
• Experience managing complex discovery and preparing cases for trial
• Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload
