Mechanical Payroll Specialist

A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Payroll Specialist with union payroll experience to join their team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for field and office employees while maintaining compliance with union agreements and payroll regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple payroll schedules, and experience working within the construction or mechanical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees

  • Ensure compliance with union agreements, prevailing wage requirements, and certified payroll reporting

  • Maintain accurate payroll records, deductions, and benefit contributions

  • Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to verify hours, job codes, and classifications

  • Prepare and submit payroll reports, union reports, and related documentation

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll inquiries

  • Assist with audits and ensure compliance with company policies and labor regulations

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in the mechanical or construction industry

  • Union payroll experience required

  • Knowledge of union agreements, certified payroll, and prevailing wage requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
