ATTORNEY AUDITOR | LEGAL AUDITING

Los Angeles | Glendale | Pasadena | Irvine

Seeking a detail-driven Attorney with 5 to 10+ years' Auditing and Compliance expertise for an AV-rated, mid-sized Insurance Defense firm in Los Angeles/Irvine area. This Attorney Auditor position is ideal for a legal professional with a strong foundation in both law and auditing who can analyze legal and financial records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and client policies. The role requires meticulous document review, risk assessment, and compliance evaluation. You will collaborate closely with top-tier attorneys, compliance officers, and clients to evaluate adherence to laws and ethical standards, and work across multiple practice areas in a collegial work environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Review contracts, financial statements, and compliance docs for accuracy, consistency, and legal sufficiency.
  • Conduct compliance audits to identify potential legal and regulatory risks.
  • Perform risk assessments to detect discrepancies or gaps in legal and financial practices.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and recommendations for improving compliance and minimizing risk.
  • Support forensic reviews, investigations, and due diligence during transactions or regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 5 to 10+ years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with exposure to auditing, compliance, or risk management
  • Experience with legal billing platforms, i.e., BottomLine, Legal Exchange
  • Deep understanding of legal auditing standards and compliance frameworks
  • Exceptional analytical reasoning, attention to detail, and written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and communicate findings to attorneys and clients

Daily in-office role with potential for hybrid. Base salary compensation range, DOE $130K - $160K. Additional details on benefits, 401K and PTO available. First interview via zoom; second in-person.
