About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join our growing Oil & Gas Survey team. This individual will oversee all aspects of land surveying operations supporting upstream, midstream, and energy infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with boundary analysis, pipeline and well location surveys, easement preparation, legal descriptions, and project management. The RPLS will ensure all survey work meets state licensing requirements while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and safety.

Employment Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple oil & gas surveying projects from planning through final delivery.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop survey field crews and office technicians.
  • Perform boundary resolution, deed research, and title analysis.
  • Review title commitments, easements, right-of-way documents, and legal records.
  • Prepare and certify legal descriptions.
  • Sign and seal plats, survey maps, and other survey deliverables.
  • Perform ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys as required.
  • Coordinate survey activities with engineers, landmen, title attorneys, project managers, and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with state surveying laws, licensing requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Resolve complex boundary and title issues.
  • Utilize GPS/GNSS, Total Stations, UAV/drone technology, and LiDAR data.
  • Review CAD drawings and final survey products for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all field operations comply with company safety policies.
  • Survey proposed drilling pad locations and horizontal well sites.
  • Prepare pipeline centerline surveys and stake pipeline routes.
  • Develop right-of-way exhibits.
  • Survey compressor stations, tank batteries, and production facilities.
  • Locate existing utilities and coordinate with drilling and construction teams.
  • Support renewable energy and transmission line projects as needed.
  • Assist with resolving mineral ownership and boundary conflicts in coordination with land departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license.
  • 5+ years of professional land surveying experience.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Boundary law
    • Easement interpretation
    • Title research
    • Deed interpretation
    • Survey regulations
  • Experience managing survey field crews and multiple projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
