Position Overview
The Director of Maintenance / Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance program for the training fleet, including inspections, FAA compliance, technician supervision, records management, and coordination with operations to ensure safe, available aircraft. The role requires leadership, organization, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all maintenance activities for the training fleet.
Ensure compliance with FAA Part 43 and Part 91 regulations.
Supervise A&P technicians and coordinate work with vendors.
Maintain maintenance records, logbooks, and digital tracking systems.
Oversee parts inventory and maintenance budgets.
Schedule maintenance to minimize aircraft downtime.
Lead safety and quality assurance programs.
Serve as the FAA contact during audits and inspections.
Support a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
Qualifications
FAA A&P certificate required; IA preferred.
Minimum 5 years of general aviation maintenance experience, including 2+ years in supervision or management.
Strong knowledge of piston-engine training aircraft (Cessna, Piper, Diamond).
Experience with maintenance tracking and digital logbook systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail and dedication to safety and compliance.
