We are partnered with an organization that's seeking an experienced and reliable Survey Crew Chief to lead their field survey teams. The ideal candidate will oversee daily survey operations, ensure accurate data collection, manage crew members, and coordinate closely with project managers to deliver high-quality surveying services.
Lead and supervise survey crews in the field to ensure efficient and accurate survey operations.
Interpret survey plans, maps, and legal descriptions to guide crew activities.
Operate and maintain survey instruments including total stations, GPS equipment, and levels.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during fieldwork.
Coordinate daily tasks, schedule assignments, and manage field logistics.
Collect, verify, and record survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Communicate with project managers and engineers to report progress and resolve issues.
Train and mentor crew members to enhance team skills and performance.
Maintain equipment and manage inventory of supplies.
Proven experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar role in surveying or construction.
Proficient in using surveying instruments and software (e.g., GPS, total stations, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and safety standards.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and legal descriptions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physically capable of fieldwork.
Associate degree or certification in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
Experience with GIS software.
OSHA or safety certifications.
