Job Title: Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney

Multiple positions open at different office locations

A well-established law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice in North Carolina. This role offers the opportunity to manage a full caseload while working closely with experienced partners representing employers and insurers across a wide range of industries. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent writing ability, and the ability to manage cases independently while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a workers’ compensation defense caseload from initial claim through resolution

  • Conduct depositions of claimants, lay witnesses, medical providers, and expert witnesses

  • Draft and respond to motions, briefs, and discovery

  • Review and analyze medical records and claim files to develop case strategy

  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, and other proceedings before the North Carolina Industrial Commission

  • Investigate claims and perform legal analysis on cases

  • Negotiate settlements and prepare client reports as required by insurers

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Workers’ Compensation defense experience required

  • Experience taking depositions and participating in mediations preferred

  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

  • North Carolina State Bar
