A respected and growing law firm in the St. Louis area is seeking a skilled Tax Law Attorney with 4–8 years of experience to join its established tax and business planning practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and organizations on complex tax planning, compliance, and transactional matters. The ideal candidate enjoys analytical problem solving, client counseling, and structuring sophisticated tax strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise clients on federal, state, and local tax planning and compliance matters
Provide tax analysis and structuring for mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and business transactions
Assist with entity formation and structuring from a tax perspective
Counsel clients on partnership, corporate, and individual tax issues
Represent clients in tax controversy matters, including audits, administrative appeals, and negotiations with taxing authorities (if applicable)
Collaborate with business, estate planning, and transactional attorneys on multidisciplinary matters
Monitor and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations impacting clients
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the Missouri Bar (or ability to waive in)
4–8 years of tax law experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or government setting
Strong knowledge of federal income tax law; state and local tax experience is a plus
LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required
Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills
Strong client communication and advisory abilities
