Survey Crew Chief in Columbus

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Survey Crew Chief to join our team and lead and manage field survey operations. The Survey Crew Chief will work closely with project managers, clients, and field crews to ensure accurate and efficient data collection and project execution. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and technical expertise in land surveying. This role does not require licensure but we have other roles if you are licensed!

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate field survey operations, including boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys.
• Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS, total stations, and data collectors.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, project specifications, and company standards.
• Perform field calculations, data collection, and quality control to ensure accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients to address project needs and expectations
• Document and submit accurate field notes, sketches, and reports.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Survey Crew Chief or similar role
• Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and equipment
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in land surveying.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble, and other modern survey equipment and software 
• Strong understanding of land survey principles, practices, and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in surveying or related field preferred.
