QUANTITY TAKEOFF SPECIALIST

Location: Between LA and Santa Barbara, CA

An established general contracting firm is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Takeoff Specialist to support project estimating and preconstruction efforts. This position supports a variety of project types under the firm’s portfolio.

Responsibilities:
• Review plans, specifications, addenda, and project documentation for upcoming bids
• Develop accurate quantity takeoffs for materials, labor, and equipment based on plans and specs
• Prepare quantity summaries for material, labor, and equipment for bids
• Assist with bid preparation: pricing, vendor/subcontractor outreach, bid-package assembly
• Maintain organized documentation and version control throughout bid process
• Support estimators and project management to ensure bid quantities align with project scope
• Support project teams with clarifications, revisions, and value-engineering when needed

Requirements:
• Experience performing quantity takeoffs for civil, structural, or general contracting scopes
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, or civil drawings and specifications
• Proficiency with takeoff / estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills
• Capability to manage multiple bids under deadline pressure
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
