Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview:
 Our team is looking to add a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This is a full-time, shop-based position maintaining and repairing truck mounted industrial equipment. We’re a leading OEM of specialized truck-mounted industrial equipment, backed by strong stakeholders with a reputation for durability and innovation for over 50 years. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on truck-mounted vacuum trucks 
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and technical manuals 
  • Perform scheduled PM inspections on chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air, and water systems 
  • Conduct DOT inspections and complete repairs to OEM/DOT standards 
  • Perform and document “check-in” and “check-out” inspections on rental fleet units to “Ready-to-Rent” status 
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop environment 
  • Occasional travel for field service calls and factory training 


Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable heavy equipment, truck, or vacuum truck mechanic experience 
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting 
  • Ability to read and work from electrical/hydraulic schematics 
  • Experience performing DOT inspections a plus 
  • Basic computer skills and strong documentation habits 
  • Self-motivated, organized, excellent communicator, and true team player 
  • Must own basic hand tools and toolbox (company provides all large/specialized tools) 
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
