Tax Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its core tax services team serving the greater Pittsburgh market (north suburbs office) on a hybrid schedule (average 2-3 days/week in office). You will manage clients’ tax compliance needs, anticipate tax and business issues, recognize planning opportunities and develop less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple engagements and provide tax planning, consulting and compliance recommendations
• Prepare and review complex returns for high-net-worth individuals, C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and not-for-profits
• Manage team members and review work for accuracy, completeness and budget
• Work with managers and partners to maintain and grow client relationships
• Resolve technical tax issues and respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries
• Introduce additional services based on client needs
• Mentor and coach tax staff at various levels

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Active CPA license
• 5+ years of current or recent public accounting tax experience
• Knowledge of IRS and other tax authority regulations and standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet challenging deadlines
• Excellent communication and employee management skills
• Proficiency with tax software
