Job Description: Claims Technician

Summary: This position involves handling property and casualty as well as workers’ compensation claim-related issues. Training, resources, and continuing education will be provided to ensure the new team member can accomplish the role's requirements.

Salary: $75k – $95k per year, depending on capabilities and knowledge. Candidates can be remote, flex, or in-office. San Diego / Southern California 

  • Report client Property & Casualty claims as directed by the Claims Risk Advisor.
  • Conduct non-urgent claim follow-ups and status requests.
  • Manage all claims-related activities assigned, from LOSS per each claim to quarterly open claim updates (LCXC).
  • Act as an advocate for clients with insurance company partners to ensure proactive claims handling, appropriate reserving, compliance with insurance regulations, and aggressive legal defense.
  • Strategize with clients to develop mutually agreed upon Property & Casualty claims management techniques, including utilization of the Medical Provider Network, formal first aid programs, and early return to work.
  • Develop claims prevention and management techniques with clients, including accident investigation and sub-contractor pre-qualification practices.
  • Assist with claim reviews by gathering Loss Runs for all Risk Control claims functions.
  • Attend in-person or virtual quarterly claim reviews with the Claims Risk Advisor, clients, and insurance carriers. Manage the schedule of reviews to ensure timely delivery and participation by appropriate parties.
  • Prepare documentation for claim reviews, including formatting, proof-reading, branding, printing, and binding of all documents such as Loss Runs and Claim Status Reports.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Claims Experience
  • Insurance License (Desired)
  • CRIS, AIC, CRM, CIC Designations (Desired)
