Operations Leader – Manufacturing Facility (Plant / General Management) Position is in Texas
Role Overview
Seeking a results-oriented Operations Leader to oversee both the operational execution and financial performance of a high-volume manufacturing facility employing approximately 50 team members. This role carries full responsibility for plant profitability, production performance, and team development while ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent operations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on yet strategic leader who can build strong internal structure, develop leadership at the supervisory level, and drive measurable improvements across production, quality, and cost performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Direct full facility financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and margin management
- Improve operational metrics such as throughput, labor productivity, scrap reduction, and on-time shipment performance
- Provide leadership across production, maintenance, quality, and safety functions while supporting alignment with sales objectives
- Build and mentor frontline leadership to strengthen daily execution and accountability
- Lead process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, waste reduction, and standardized workflows
- Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and operational policies
- Analyze operational needs and recommend capital improvements to support growth and performance
- Promote a strong safety-first environment while maintaining positive employee engagement
- Partner with senior leadership to align plant execution with broader organizational goals
Background & Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing environments such as packaging, corrugated, paper products, or other high-volume production settings
- Proven experience managing full facility financial performance and cost structures
- Demonstrated track record of improving operational KPIs including efficiency, waste reduction, and profitability
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma experience preferred)
- Experience leading teams ranging from 30–100 employees in a production environment
- Strong financial and operational analysis skills including budgeting, cost control, and capital planning
- Effective communicator with the ability to lead within a performance-driven culture
