Controller-Level Operations & Finance Leader (Construction)

A growing construction company is seeking a hands-on financial and operational leader to support ownership in a high-impact role. This is not a typical accountant position focused on AP or basic job costing — that support already exists.

We are looking for someone who understands construction financials at a strategic level and can lead forecasting, budgeting, banking relationships, and overall financial accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead company-wide forecasting and budgeting

  • Work directly with banks, lenders, and financial partners

  • Assist with property acquisition analysis and financial planning

  • Oversee the internal accountant and financial workflows

  • Partner with sales, vendors, and trade partners to ensure financial alignment

  • Monitor cash flow, projections, and overall financial health

  • Improve systems, clean up GL reporting, and strengthen processes during slower cycles

  • Provide financial insight to support ownership decision-making

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of construction-related financial experience

  • Strong forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow knowledge

  • Comfortable communicating with banks and outside financial partners

  • Leadership ability with experience overseeing accounting functions

  • Construction background needed

  • Proactive, growth-minded, and solutions-oriented

  • Takes initiative and thrives in a dynamic environment

  • Software experience helpful, but trainable
